02 February, 2017

We love classic car shows so much that we’ve got another one lined up for the end of March, you should know by now that we are heading to the London Classic Car Show on the 23rd February at the exCel, if you didn’t then make sure you head to our Facebook and Twitter for the chance to get your hands on a pair of tickets to join us.

You’ll also be able to find us at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show at the NEC, Birmingham and the show is now officially the UK’s fastest growing classic car event, with over 19,000 enthusiasts visiting the show last year.

The show prides itself on its diversity and with over 1000 magnificent classic cars on display,  you’ll find all things beautiful from barn finds to concours represented by everything from Austins and Fords to Porsches and Ferraris, with everything in-between.

The show also has a big focus on the owners of classics and will bring together a team of experts from all across the classic car industry, from specialist restorers to magazine editors, who will share their wealth of knowledge. Providing invaluable advice, hints, and tips on everything from buying a classic, to fault diagnosis and from essential maintenance to getting their treasured classic through its all-important MOT.

There will be motoring mayhem on the Live Stage as Practical Classics magazine Editor Danny Hopkins and his trusty Deputy James Walshe take visitors on a road trip through a jam-packed programme of celebrity guests, car parades, a 48-hour restoration – plus some surprises along the way!

You will also find the extensive trader village and Autojumble, where you will find everything you need for the coming season – be it as a driver, mechanic, crew or an enthusiast. Discover a treasure trove of items, ideal for those tackling restoration projects, the popular AutoJumble will feature over 100 stands offering all sorts of parts, spares, and tools.

Not only can you track down that elusive part that’s proved impossible to track down but with more classic vehicle clubs at the show than ever before you’ll be able to meet like-minded owners and swap tips, tricks, and ideas with each other.

Classic clubs remain the lifeblood of the classic vehicle community and it is club members that work tirelessly to ensure these fantastic marques are not forgotten and remain on our roads as long as possible, so enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy our great motoring heritage.

With over 130 clubs at the show and many of them actively working on restoring or servicing vehicles on their stands at the show, it presents the perfect opportunity to speak to real ‘hands-on’ experts for advice and get to see how it’s done first hand.

Another fantastic feature is the barn find display which will flaunt 25 cars that have been unearthed from garages, sheds, and gardens, the length and breadth of the country and been rescued by passionate enthusiasts who’ll always recognise a classic when they see one.

This year also sees the return of the ‘Pride of Ownership’ competition, which is now open for entries and will give enthusiasts the opportunity to exhibit their pride and joy when their cars will be displayed at the event, showcasing the dedication that the classic community has for their cars.

The show is looking for a diverse range of classics with interesting histories, compelling restorations or heartwarming stories and we can’t wait to see the cars on display and hear the incredible stories behind them.

The owners of the selected cars being showcased for the competition will each receive two show tickets per day and free parking throughout the weekend. The top 3, chosen by the show visitors, will be awarded trophies and the overall winner will receive a VIP weekend at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show 2018, plus an overnight stay at the luxury Wroxall Abbey Hotel & Estate.

If that’s something you can see you and classic being perfect for then send two pictures of your car, before and after, with a brief description including year, make and model to [email protected], for your chance to take part in the show.

Head to the Practical Classics Show website for more information and don’t forget to check out our Facebook and Twitter accounts for a host of ticket giveaways to both classic car shows!
