Rolex Watches Auction - William George & Co.
William George and Co are proud to say that we have a featured lot in the Rolex Watches auction which is the Rolex Submariner. This stunning watch is out of auction on the 15th of July.
Let's take a closer look at our featured lot.
The Submariner has a gorgeous Stainless Steel Oyster bracelet which is one of the most popular. The flat three-piece link is less prone to stretching meaning it is more durable.
The Submariner is boasting a case made from stainless steel and Plexiglass. This sturdy combination illustrates Rolex's endeavour to continue making reliable and quality watches.
In my eyes, this style of watch is spectacular. The black dial and face contrast beautifully with the stainless steel Oyster bracelet and the silver hands.
Another thing that sets off the looks of the Submariner is the cream indices on the face which mark each hour.
The History of the Rolex Submariner.
The Rolex Submariner was introduced in the 70's to answer to the growing popularity of sea exploration.
Dated as 1970, this submariner is currently 48 years old! In pre-owned condition, it's been serviced and certified as being in ‘good condition’.
Trivia - This style of the bracelet was introduced to the public in the 1930’s which means that this style is nearly 90 years old!
A great name who wore the famous Submariner was the king of cool, Steve McQueen. He is one of the all-time great actors and starred in films such as Bullet and The Great Escape. The actual watch he used to wear will be heading into an auction in October later this year. To find out more, read the Journal about it here.
If you are the lucky winner of the Rolex Submariner, it will mean that you will receive the original box, service papers along with 12 months of warranty.
